How the Remote Trainer Works
The LINK app’s remote trainer sends commands via Bluetooth. Typical range is 30–50 feet, depending on your phone, obstacles, and environment. This means:
✓ Works in the yard, inside the house, and on walks, whenever you’re near your dog.
✓ Works through typical walls, you can use it from inside while your dog is in the backyard.
✕ Does not work from across town. This isn’t a cellular or GPS system. You need to be within Bluetooth range of your dog.
The remote trainer gives you 13 correction levels plus audible warnings, the same range of options available in the boundary system, but controlled from your phone for on-the-spot training.

A Note on Training & Comfort
LINK is a tool that makes your invisible fence smarter, but the foundation is always training. We use GentleSteps™ training, which focuses on teaching your dog to respect boundaries through positive reinforcement and gradual exposure. The goal is that most dogs respond to warning cues, not correction. Explore remote trainer options.
For your dog’s comfort, collars should be removed daily (including at night) to prevent irritation. We’ll cover all of this during your training orientation.

Do I need LINK for the fence to work?
No. LINK is an optional upgrade. The invisible fence works perfectly without the app. LINK just adds convenience and visibility.
Can I use LINK if I have multiple dogs?
Yes. You can add multiple dogs to the app, each with their own photo and completely independent settings. Switch between dogs quickly when using the remote trainer.
Can multiple family members use the app?
Yes. Everyone in your household can download the LINK app and connect to the collar. Like any Bluetooth device, only one phone can be actively connected at a time, but anyone can check battery status, view history, or use the remote trainer when they’re connected.
What exactly can I change in the app myself?
You can adjust the GentleSteps correction level, how strong the training signal is. Deeper programming (like timing, signal patterns, and advanced settings) stays dealer-side for safety and simplicity.
How far does the remote trainer work?
Typically 30–50 feet, depending on your phone, obstacles, and environment. It works through walls and across a normal yard. You need to be relatively close to your dog. It’s not a cellular or GPS system.
Is LINK a GPS tracker?
No. LINK does not track your dog’s location. It connects to the collar via Bluetooth for battery monitoring, activity history, and remote training, but it’s not a GPS device.
What about the Wi-Fi alerts I’ve heard about?
Wi-Fi push notifications (wire break alerts, power loss alerts, heartbeat monitoring) require the OT-300 LINK Transmitter, which is included in our Complete package. The standard LINK collar connects via Bluetooth only.
How long does the battery last?
3–4 weeks per charge with typical usage. Heavy use of app features (night light, remote trainer, frequent adjustments) can reduce runtime. A full charge takes about 3 hours. The app alerts you when battery is low with plenty of lead time.
Does LINK require a subscription?
No. The app is free to download and there are no monthly fees. You pay once when you add LINK to your system.
Can someone else connect to my dog’s collar?
No. LINK uses PIN-based pairing. Only devices you’ve authorized can connect to the collar.
Does LINK work with other fence brands?
LINK is exclusive to Pet Stop systems. If you have another brand, we can discuss upgrading your entire system.
What if my dog runs through the fence?
Contact us immediately. This is usually a training or settings timing issue. We can often adjust settings remotely, and we’ll work with you to solve it. That’s why we include unlimited support.
